A Letter Home LOOKING AHEAD Scan the QR code with a web-enabled device to view a video on the life and charism of Saint Pius X together as a family. You will learn more about this 20th-century saint in the Families in Mission pages for Chapter 3. Dear Parents and Family, Welcome to Christ Our Life! You have the opportunity to be involved in your child’s learning about the Catholic faith. Your interest, participation, and discussions at home will expand your child’s understanding of these lessons and convey a message about their importance. Unit 1 introduces your child to an all-loving God who cares personally about each of us. Children learn that everything and everyone are gifts from God, and they are led to a greater awareness of God’s presence in the everyday. They learn that God the Father’s greatest gift is his Son, Jesus, who freed us from sin. Jesus shows us how we can enjoy life with God forever. Children come to a deeper understanding of Baptism, which joins us to the Church and is an initiation into a new life united with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This leads to a discussion of the Trinity. Children learn how the Church shares and teaches Sacred Scripture, celebrates God’s presence among us, and is dedicated to living in God’s love. At home, consider lighting your child’s baptismal candle at a family meal as a reminder of your child’s Baptism and bringing Jesus’ Light to others. Children revisit essential chapter content, complete a Your Turn activity, and undertake an interactive chapter review in the Review section of each chapter. At the end of each chapter of this unit, children will bring home the Families in Mission pages so that you can further explore the chapter content, grow in your faith, and be inspired to go forth as a family of missionary disciples. The last chapter of each unit is a unit review. There you will find a QR code to scan to play the Stump the Shepherd unit review game. 2 Unit 1 Christ Our Life® S SAMPLE

Then Jesus told the people that God loves us much more than the birds and the flowers. God loves us more than any part of his creation and he will always provide for us.
